Mohamed El-Bakkar enjoyed a highly successful career in Egyptian cinema. This multi-talented individual made his mark singing, acting, directing, and producing motion pictures. He was also much appreciated as a radio and television personality. El-Bakkar moved to Brooklyn, New York in the United States in 1952. He recorded six LP records of Middle Eastern music which people continue to appreciate today. He appeared in the Broadway musical Fanny from 1954 to 1956.
