Anand Raaj Anand is an Indian composer, lyricist and playback singer who works in the Hindi film industry. He was raised in Delhi and belonged to a well-off family that was into jewelry business. However, he left it behind to pursue his dream career in music. In 1995, the versatile artist came up with some ready-made songs and presented them to Tinu Anand in Delhi. The songs clicked big time and the latter introduced him to the Time Music Company, which signed Anand for 4 films. Although, he primarily wanted to become a singer, the presence of Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan and other prolific singers in the industry at that time ensured his admission to becoming a composer. From there on, Anand never looked back and started getting recognition and accolades for his impressive work. In 1996, he wrote, composed and sang songs for the film Masoom. He went on to direct and compose music for more than 90 films in the coming years. The maverick individual did playback singing for over 45 films while also being the lyricist of over 40 soundtracks. Owing to this, he started building a credible portfolio of projects that made him one of the most sought-after artists in the film industry. His proven credentials helped him in crafting his own niche to build a legacy. As a result, Anand was nominated for the Best Music Director Filmfare Award for Kaante (2003). Some of his most popular works include Pardesi Babu, Hadh Kar Di Aapne, Bichhoo, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai, Kaante, Kismat, Musafir, Welcome, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Double Dhamaal, among others. Having left an unperturbed mark on the hearts of the audiences, Anand has made the most of his artistic prowess and intends to continue in the same vein for the years to come.
