Born to Walter Emory and Stella Elizabeth Arpin in the beautiful city of San Diego. At an early age he found fascination with movies and on occasion stayed the entire day at the cinema. Sometime in his teens he discovered the work of Ray Harryhausen and went about animating GI Joes. After a stint of driving a school bus, he landed a job doing optical effects for motion pictures.
