Radio announcer in 1972 for K.O.L.E Radio in Port Arthur, Texas as 'Ed Williams'. Studied theater and broadcasting at Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas. Broadcaster with the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service by age 25. Served with the European Broadcasting Squadron at Incirlik (IN-jur-lick) Air Base, Turkey as a television news reporter and weekend news anchor. Later, he worked for the Headquarters American Forces Korea Network (AFKN), in Seoul, Korea. His afternoon drive-time radio show, "Rollin' Home" was carried by all six AFKN radio affiliates throughout the Republic of Korea. Ed Autry's credits include: Article 99 (1992), as the Mumbling Man, shot on location in Kansas City, Missouri. He also performed in regional television commercials and industrial comedy videos. Because of Ed's amazing 'elastic face', renowned photographer Nick Vedros featured Ed as the subject of his comedic photo, "The Rocketchair" which appeared in many national magazines. For a time, Ed served as voiceover talent at "Ed Autry Voiceovers", and provided voice-overs for radio commercials, television commercials, business and corporate videos, narrations and documentaries, and telephone system recordings.
