Roger Barton began his editorial career working on documentaries and TV movies, including the Emmy award-winning "Indictment: The McMartin Trial." He soon made the transition to motion pictures and, in 1997, was an Associate Editor on the decade's biggest blockbuster, "Titanic." Roger quickly moved up the ladder, honing his skills at Jerry Bruckheimer Films on "Armageddon" and "Gone in 60 Seconds." Since then, Barton has worked with Michael Bay on "Pearl Harbor," "Bad Boys 2," the Platinum Dunes release, "Amityville Horror," "The Island," and the last five "Transformers" films. During his career, Roger has cut for Hollywood's leading filmmakers such as George Lucas on "Star Wars: Episode III", the Wachowski Brothers' "Speed Racer", Jim Sheridan's "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" and two films for Director Joe Carnahan, "The Grey" and "The A-Team." Beginning in 2013, Roger edited three films for Skydance Entertainment; "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," "World War Z," and "Terminator: Genesis." In 2016 Roger returned to work with Jerry Bruckheimer on Walt Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Men Tell No Tales." In the summer of 2017, while Roger was editing "Godzilla: King of Monsters" for Legendary Pictures, he began to use a new collaboration platform he Co-Founded called Evercast. This experience fueled Roger's commitment to help change Hollywood workflows and improve the work-life balance of editors. When the Covid-19 pandemic shut down Hollywood, Evercast became an essential tool for filmmakers by allowing them to collaborate remotely. This innovation helped Evercast win a 2020 Engineering Emmy. In 2019, Walt Disney Pictures invited Roger to join their creative team. Since then, he has temporarily paused his freelance career to lend his experience to their feature film department. In August of 2022, Roger married Jackie Volker, uniting together her six children and his son Aidan, who played both Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia as infants in the motion picture Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Currently, Roger works as an Editorial Creative Consultant for Walt Disney Pictures and is in the process of finishing a script about Medal of Honor recipient, William J. Crawford.
