Dawne Caldwell, Damon's real name, went on from acting after M.A.S.H. and became a street evangelist (Jews for Jesus and other groups) and later a missionary to Mongolia. Dawne's work among orphans and street kids in Ulaanbaatar is featured in the book "There's a Sheep in my Bathtub: Birth of a Mongolian Church Planting Movement" by Brian Hogan (Asteroidea Books). Her 6th Birthday was celebrated at the Hotel Bayangol in the Mongolian Capital. She was a beloved mentor to the young actors and actresses of the drama troupe at Jesus' Assembly in Erdenet. Failing health and fragility forced her return to the USA but Dawne was always ready to go anywhere for her Lord even when her body said no. A movie is in the works about the mission to Mongolia (based on Hogan's book) so Dawne (played by someone else) may once again grace the big screen.
