Téana David is a writer, producer, and life-long environmental activist working at the intersection of ecology, spirituality, and social justice. She has created numerous works for theatre, television, and film; one of her plays, The Wonders, was awarded The Steven Spielberg Righteous Person's Grant. She has also worked as an actor and on-camera host, appearing in socially and ecologically-focused projects for Canadian TV (10 episodes of Take Off Again!, prod. by The May St. Group) and The National Film Board of Canada (Kids for Sale). As of spring 2020, she is writing and associate producing a feature-length documentary on the life and work of ecologist, Allan Savory, and co-writing a short documentary about the Amazon rain forest Crisis, both with Academy-award nominated director/producer, Kit Thomas. Téana curates and conducts interviews with contemporary wisdom keepers from around the world as the director of the online video library, Circle of Wisdom. Previously, she served as the director of Deepak Chopra's NYC center, Deepak Homebase, where she designed and produced a year-round lecture series with environmental and social justice leaders such as Vandana Shiva, Fabien Cousteau, Marianne Williamson, Paul Hawken, Eve Ensler, Chase IronEyes, and many others. Téana has apprenticed in herbal medicine with Susun Weed, trained in soil advocacy with Kiss the Ground, and holds an MFA from Naropa University in Contemporary Performance, an interdisciplinary approach to writing and producing original works that positively impact society.
