Marijn De Valck started his career as a singer, under the name Marino Falco. His breakthrough came in 1966, when he scored two hits in Flanders ("Ma première cigarette" and "J'ai plus mon papa"). He was offered a part in the musical "The last days of Isaac", fell in love with theatre, and decided to study drama at the Koninklijk Muziekconservatorium in Brussels. After graduating, he starred in the TV series _"Paradijsvogels, De" (1980)_, as well as working in the theatre. In 1990, he accepted the part of Balthasar Boma in F.C. De Kampioenen (1990), a TV series about a soccer team which became one of the most popular Belgian sitcoms ever.
