Considered one of the finest Soviet actresses of her generation, Tatyana Vasilyevna Doronina was born in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) and graduated from the Moscow Art Theater. While sticking mostly to theater, she has had some noteworthy roles on the silver screen. One of her most famous movie roles is "Once More about Love", in which she plays a flight attendant. A testament to the movie's immediate impact was the desire of girls in the Soviet Union to imitate Doronina's bouffant hairdo. As of September, 2008, Tatyana Doronina is director of the Gorky MKhAT.
