Born in Buchen, Germany. Studies in International Politics, Economy und Communication in Zurich and Munich. M.A. from LMU Munich in 1981. She did a publication in Munich University studies, series & Development by Integration - Peru in the Andeanpact. After working in print media and public relations, Waltraud directed in 1985 the 4-episodes historical docu-show MUNICH 1900 until 1949 - Stories of a City for German public TV channel BR. and wrote and directed her movie debut Katzenjammer Kids, which was shot in the US, shown in Film Festival Hof and Berlinale, sold to a couple of countries and also and aired on German TV. 1985, Waltraud cofounded production company relief-film, which produced over the next ten years low-buget feature films and documentaries on sociocultural issues in India, South Korea, Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritius, Madagascar and in the South Pacific. In 1995-2015 Waltraud focussed on writing popular TV-shows and TV-movies for German and Swiss public and private TV channels. Highlights: 2004 Fremde im Paradies, awarded with the Prix Swissperform Cinema Tout Ecran Geneva. 2005 Waltraud created and scripted the German public TV ZDF crime-show Unter anderen Umstaenden, shown at Hamburg Filmfestival (1. episode) and awarded 2006 with the Civis-Price (2. episode). Crime-drama Der Tote im Watt 2013 had the best viewing rate of ZDF Monday evening slot. In 2015 co-founding new production company Good Karma Fiction.
