Hugh Elton

British background player Hugh Elton Torbett was born on May 4, 1923 in West London, England. Torbett first began appearing in films in often uncredited minor roles in the mid-1950's. A husky fellow with a sharp nose, broad shoulders, and usually well combed hair, Hugh was frequently cast as policemen, bartenders, military officers, or patrons in clubs, pubs, or restaurants. Elton died from cancer at age 80 on December 18, 2003 in London, England.
