Born in Coamo, Puerto Rico, Bobby Capo began his musical career began when he was chosen to replace a member of the orchestra that was led by Rafael Hernandez. Later moving to New York City, he became a bandmember in Xavier Cugat's band. An established songwriter and singer, Capo wrote many songs, and was a big sensation in Cuba, where his music blared from radios almost everyday. In his final years he worked for the offfice of Puerto Rican Affairs in New York. He died in 1989 in New York City.
