She begin her career as a radio speaker before directing the folklore dance company Les Feux follets. Producer at the Office National du Film du Canada from 1973 to 1977. She became a writer for 'Anne Claire Poirier' on _Le Temps de l'avant_. In 1977. With André Théberge and 'Denyse Benoit' she found 'La Maison des quatre' a movie production company. She directed her first fiction movie in 1980: Ça peut pas être l'hiver, on n'a même pas eu d'été (1980).
