In 2006, the breakthrough came when her debut solo album, "I Really Love You", earned her first Stellar Award nominations for "Best New Artist '', "Best Song of the Year", "Best Single/Female Gospel Artist" and "Best New Contemporary Gospel Album". DeNetria's first appearance on the silver screen was in the 1993 movie, "Sugar Hill '' starring Wesley Snipes and Michael Wright. In 2007, she starred in "This Christmas" alongside Chris Brown, Loretta Divine and Idris Elba, in which she performed an acclaimed version of "O Holy Night". DeNetria Champ's God-given vocal talents also garnered appearance on, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, The Bernie Mac Show, White House Tribute - President Bill Clinton, Prince Albert of Monaco TV Special and The Arsenio Hall Show.
