Gérard Chambre is a French actor, singer, composer and director on stage. He was born in Choisy-le-Roi, Val-de-Marne France. He first appeared 1964 in the movie Les Amitiés particulières by well-known French director Jean Delannoy. He appeared in diverse roles in the cinema. He is also well known for his roles on television, especially for his role of Louis in Le Dessous du Ciel 1974. He was in all of the 24 episodes, playing a parachutist and became a teenage idol. There followed roles in Marianne, une étoile pour Napoléon in 1983 (Jason Beaufort), in Catherine, il suffit d'un amour 1986 in the role of Jean Poton de Xaintrailles, one of Jeanne d'Arc's captain. He played Admiral John Paul Jones in Le Gerfaut in 1987 a very popular French television series. In 1987 he was in La guerre des femmes and played the scoundrel Roland de Cauvignac. In between he appeared on stage in Paris, where he played Paul in Hotel Baltimore (written by Landord Wilson) which played at Espace Pierre Cardin. Since the seventies he appeared in many shows with his interpretations of the chansons of Belgian Jacques Brel. He appears nowadays at the Festival of Lacoste of Pierre Cardin in musical shows, written and directed by himself. He is also seen since the beginning of 2000 at the famous Restaurant chez Maxim's with his shows and his own company Opéra ma non troppo.
