Now an Actor, Alan Charlesworth was born in 1949 in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England, UK. He left school at 16 and started work in an insurance office but his ambition to work in the entertainment sector led him to apply to the BBC for a job in London in 1971. He was accepted into a clerical post & then in 1972 transferred into BBC TV, Drama Plays Department where he stayed until 1999 rising from Facilities Clerk, to Assistant Floor Manager, Location Manger, Production Manager, First Assistant Director & Director. In 1999 he left the BBC and its jobs behind and Acting is now the only work that he will consider. His Acting CV for Stage Work is available under "Other Works". At the age of 50 he studied at the Drama School London for a year to legitimise his decision to become a Professional Actor and Graduated in 2000. Acting kept him busy until 2012, and since then he has been "resting", but still maintains his Actor Status and Equity Membership in case something presents itself that he is unable to resist.
