Asen Shopov

Assen Shopov is a Bulgarian theater and film director. Assen Shopov was born on February 16, 1933, in Brestovitsa, Plovdiv region, Bulgaria. He graduated in "acting" (1956) and " theater directing" (1962) in the class of Professor Mois Beniesh at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria. He has debuted with the play "Tomorrow is the day also" by Georgi Dzhagarov in Dimitrovgrad Drama Theater(1962). He has worked as an actor at the Sliven Drama Theatre (1956-58) and as a director since 1962 in Haskovo Drama Theater(1964-66), Burgas Drama Theater(1967-72), Bulgarian Army' s Theater (1966-67, 1972-81), National Theater "Ivan Vazov" (1981-93) , Plovdiv Drama Theater (1993-96). He has made two movies.
