Chris Couto is an actor and presenter. She began her studies at the Tablado Theater in Rio de Janeiro, 1978. Soon after, she joined Grupo Tapa, a theater group for which she performed many roles, including in plays such as O Tempo e os Conways; Solness, O Construtor; Executivos and Retratos Falantes. In 2012, she starred in Strindberg's Creditors, under the direction of Eduardo Tolentino. Beyond Grupo Tapa, she starred in more than 20 stage plays, working alongside directors like Zé Henrique de Paula, Caco Ciocler, Eric Lenate, Elias Andreato and Thiago Ledier, among others. On TV, she worked in a series of soap operas and series for Rede Globo, among them: Um Anjo Caiu do Céu, Desejos de Mulher, Eterna Magia, A Grande Família, and Som e Fúria, directed by Fernando Meirelles. Her most recent works include the soap opera Liberdade Liberdade, in which she played Luiza, as well as the sitcom Quero Ter Um Milhão de Amigos, which premiered on Warner, and an episode of HBO's Motel. She also had roles in the Globoplay Originals Hebe and Ilha de Ferro. On the big screen, she worked alongside directors such as Carlos Reichenbach, Beto Brant, Mauro Lima, and Sérgio Rezende, among others, in movies such as the feature Uma Noite em Sampa, by Ugo Giorgetti. In 2019, she won the Shell Award for Best Actress for her work in Bernard Shaw's The Millionairess, directed by Thiago Ledier. Her credits as a TV presenter include over 9 years at MTV Brazil and 2 years at Rede Globo's Video Show.
