Bret Culp

An Award-Winning Visual Effects Supervisor/Producer, Second Unit Director and Artist, Bret Culp has contributed to more than 60 feature films, miniseries, and television shows with nearly three decades of industry experience. As Visual Effects Supervisor, Bret has led his teams to create spectacular visual effects on projects such as the critically acclaimed series The Expanse, the epic miniseries Camelot, IMAX: Hubble 3D, Silent Hill, Saw 2 and the cult classic Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. Bret was a second unit director and the Visual Effects Supervisor on The Tudors, for which he received two Best Visual Effects Gemini Awards and two more nominations over the four-year run of the show. He is a sought-after lecturer and juror, holds positions on numerous advisory committees and is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) and the Visual Effects Society (VES). He is (2019) currently the Senior Visual Effects Supervisor on Season 4 of The Expanse. Bret is also an exhibiting fine art photographer and author of the book, The Beauty of Impermanence.
