James Crowley is a writer and filmmaker. He grew up in Austin, Texas. James started his film career in the locations department and went on to travel the world as a Location Manager and Scout on the movies such as Disney's HIDALGO, THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA series, and TRANSFORMERS. James has directed two feature films. THE JOURNEYMAN, with Willie Nelson won the Audience Award at the 2001 SXSW Film Festival. In 2008, he directed the Polish language children's film FUNIO, SZEFUNIO, I RESTO, with Piotr Adamczyk for Warsaw's TVN. James has published two novels. Disney-Hyperion Books published his first novel, STARFISH, in 2010. STARFISH won The Reading The West Book Award and was featured at The Texas Book Festival. The Penguin Young Reader's Group published Crowley's second novel MONSTERLAND (Kirkus Star) in the Fall of 2017 with strong reviews.
