Susan Gordon-Clark

Born in Jackson, Mississippi, December 31, 1947, Susan graduated from Hammond High School, Hammond, Indiana, in 1966. She attended University of Tulsa on a piano/voice scholarship for one year, then transferred to Purdue University Calumet Campus and changed her field of study to acting. She spent 2 years at PUCC then finished her BFA degree at Purdue's main campus in West Lafayette, Indiana in 1972. Susan began her professional acting career in Chicago, IL at the Goodman Theatre as Priscilla in "Speed Gets the Poppys". She spent the next twelve years in Chicago and performed lead roles (Charlotte in "A Little Night Music"; Hope in "Something's Afoot"; Nellie in "South Pacific"; Marion in "The Music Man") at local theaters as well as many national commercials and industrial films. In 1984 she moved to New York City to continue her acting career. Off-Broadway she played Sister Mary Amnesia in "Nunsense", then went on to be cast as Florinda and Understudy for the Baker's Wife in the National Tour (1988) of Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods" with Cleo Lane, and in the last four months of the Broadway production with Ellen Foley. She has also appeared in numerous national and regional commercials i.e. Cheerios, Mylanta, Murphy's Oil Soap, Tide, MADD and Sears Paint. Her one-woman show about surviving domestic violence, "Red Flags", has been performed in New York, New Jersey and Georgia. In film Susan is known for "Hannah and her Sisters" , "A Step Over the Edge"(1976), plus Stygian Hour Productions "B.Y.O.B."(Indie Film) and "Clan Destiny" (Philadelphia 48 Hour Film Festival). In TV Series: NBC's "True Blue" (1990) and Comedy Central's "Strangers With Candy" (1999).
