The son of Austrian political figure, Prince Ernst Ruediger von Starhemberg and Austrian stage and screen actress Nora Gregor, Prince Heinrich (von) Starhemberg joined his parents in Latin American exile after the 1938 Nazi annexation of Austria. Originally a student of law and philosophy, Starhemberg became interested in acting during his college years. Since 1964 he has been a well-known producer, director and actor in the four countries he resides in: Spain, Austria, Chile and Argentina. In addition to his Madrid-based Nora Productions, Starhemberg has appeared in over forty film and television roles and on many Latin American and European stages, often under the name Heinrich or Henry Gregor. Starhemberg has made the family castle in Eferding, Austria home to his Eferding Cultural Institute, which hosts international symposia on European culture and sociopolitics. A novelist and playwright as well, Strahemberg's stage works have been produced in several languages in Austria, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Chile and Argentina.
