Composer, author, singer and evangelist, educated at the University of Oklahoma and a member of several dance orchestras, eventually leading his own. He wrote and directed "Redd Harper's Hollywood Roundup" for the Armed Forces Radio Service for five years, and became a worldwide evangelist.Joining ASCAP in 1954, his chief musical collaborators included Oswald Smith and Joe Rogers, and his sacred-song compositions included "Each Step Of the Way", "Lord, Keep Your Hands on Me", "What Would I Do Without Jesus", "He Changed My Life", "The Happy Band", "A Quiet Time", "The Answer Man", "Come With Your Heartache", "If a Man Should Reach the Moon", and "I'm Singing For My Lord".
