Bjørn-Erik Hanssen

Norwegian author/playwright. Born 1952, lives in Trondheim, Norway. Has published ten books, the latest "Lukkøye" ("The Golden Viking")2002, about professional boxer Ole Klemetsen, who was fighting out of Kronk Gym, Detroit. The story was also written for film in the drama documentary "Blod og ære" ("Big John") in 2008. Several of his books have been translated into other languages: "Piratene" ("The Pirates") 1983(Danish), "Prinsen av Fogo" ("The Prince of Fogo") 1987(Danish/German), "Freedom Fighter" 1989 (Danish) and "Leopardmannen" ("The Leopard Man" (English) 2000. Haugesund 2008 and Best Nordic Documentary, Nordic Panorama, Malmo 2008 festival in Bruxelles, Belgium 1987. * "Piratene" was awarded no 1 "Audience reward" at Norwegian International Film Festival, Bergen 1983 and no 1 "Audience reward" at "Nordische Filmtage" Lubeck, Germany 1983.
