Dominic Hogan was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Hogan was an Air Force pilot, a steel mill worker, a farmer, a shoemaker, a barber, and a construction worker prior to deciding on a career as a professional actor. After starting out in amateur theatre, Dominic auditioned for the Stratford Shakesperean Festival in 1965 and was a member of their company for three years. Hogan subsequently went on to play major roles on stage for The Manitoba Theatre Centre, The National Arts Centre, The St. Lawrence Centre, and The Irish Arts Theatre. Moreover, Dominic not only played a lead role in the thriller Sudden Fury (1975), but also acted in a few TV shows.
