Alan Howard Fine is a travel and screen writer, director, producer, editor and composer. Fine has worked for DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures, and has sold screen and teleplays to TriStar Pictures, Universal Studios, USA Networks and Pachyderm Entertainment. As a principal partner, a co-founder and Chief Multimedia Officer of Insider Travel Report, Fine produces every video on the site, over 2,000 now and counting. He shares video interviewing duties with his partner, thirty year award-winning travel writer James Shillinglaw, and is responsible for writing as well as producing at least a video a day for its newsletter going out to more than 112,000 travel advisers each morning. Fine wrote and directed the short film, "The Catalyst," which was released in festivals as a proof-of-concept. The short won ten awards before being pulled to be made into a feature film and episodic series, in active development with co-production companies Netminds and Moving Pictures Media Group Fine produced, directed and edited six educational films in the "Classroom Encounters" series, which was sold to libraries, high schools and colleges around the world. Fine directed infomercials for Roth Advertising as well as staged readings of his play "Fountain of Youth" at both the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse and at the Actors Theatre Workshops in Manhattan. Fine served as technical consultant for Pop.com, Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard's Internet company in Los Angeles. He created a demo for the world's first interactive situation comedy for the Internet with Visionati and Syzol New Media. Fine appeared as an actor on "Cheers" and other shows, has been a stand-up comedian, appeared on Comedy Central, was a winning contestant on "The Dating Game," and went undercover as a clown at Ringling Brothers circus to research a screenplay.
