Born and raised on Galveston Island, Alex became a junior champion surfer at age 16. After years of surfing around the world in competitions, Alex attended USC in the summer of 1995. His school was put on hold in 1996 when he returned to competitive surfing. In addition to his production work, Alex has appeared in a number of print and television ads.
