Giamatti received his first Academy Award nomination for Cinderella Man (2005). He continued to build a diverse career with notable roles in The Illusionist (2006), John Adams (2008)—which won him a Golden Globe and an Emmy—and Barney’s Version (2010), for which he won another Golden Globe. In the 2010s, Giamatti took on various roles, including in Win Win (2011), The Ides of March (2011), and Too Big to Fail (2011).
