Matt Goldman

Mr. Goldman's film and media career began in the year 2001 when his award-winning short film, 'Broke', became the first movie every to have its premiere on the internet at the Yahoo Online International Film Festival 2001. His followup short film 'The Perpetual Life of Jim Albers' screened at Sundance, Rotterdam, Resfest, Rooftop Films and dozens of festivals and broadcast platforms, won best short film at the Santa Cruz International Film Festival and landed him a spot in Filmmaker Magazine's '25 Fresh Faces of Independent Film'. Under the moniker Akjak, he has directed and produced short films, music videos and branded content for companies including Vice, The New York Times, Bloomberg News, Vocativ, BBC, Google, Sesame Workshop, Nike, Matador Records, Partizan Pictures and Red Bull. His feature length documentary "The Last Safari" had its premiere at the Hampton's International Film Festival then went onto screen at 10 festivals, taking home two awards before its release on Amazon Prime. Goldman directed Amontillado!, a pilot episode an Edgar Allan Poe adaptation series called Terror of the Soul of which he is an Executive Producer. Amontillado! stars the late Tom Sizemore and Eric Roberts. As a producer, Goldman has built out and created premium content for the digital studios at Bloomberg Originals. He most recently produced and directed episodes of the documentary series Getting Warmer with Kal Penn (2023).
