Date of death : 09/21/1985
City of birth : Hong Kong

When in Taipei he studied in the English Department of Tamkang English Junior College, but he would not finish his studies because he decided to be a novelist. In 1960 he wrote his first novel, "Cangqiong Shen Jian" ("Divine Sky Sword"). Soon he was considered as one of the best "wuxia" writers of his time, and from 1971 his novels began to be converted into films, beginning with "Xiao Shi Yi Lang" ("Swordsman at Large"), directed by Chui Chang-Wang. In 1976 reputed director Chor Yuen began his series of Lung novels adaptations for Shaw Bros. Film Company, being the first of them "Liu Xing Hu Die Jiang" ("Killer Clans"). The success of these movies (directed also by prominent directors as Lo Wei, Wong Fung or Chan Fan-Kei) impelled the selling of Lung novels before his death from cirrhosis and esophageal hemorrhage through his alcoholism. There are more than 40 films and several TV series based on novels by Lung, who wrote almost 70.
