Kurt Kuersteiner is an adjunct professor of English in his hometown of Tallahassee, Florida. He is the author of the book, The Unofficial Guide to the Art of Jack T. Chick. Chick tracts are the infamous 3 x 5 inch religious comic booklets that are found everywhere in the world, especially in The Bible Belt/Deep South. Fans collect the "in your face" propaganda for its comic art, unintentional humor, and elaborate conspiracy theories. Chick has drawn over 180 titles, and sold over 1/2 billion copies, making him the most published author alive today. Kuersteiner is also a writer/ speaker on the subjects of radio drama, non-sports trading cards, designing and managing commercial haunted houses, and the so-called "theology" behind the Church of the Subgenius. He is the producer of Mystery Playhouse, one of the longest running radio series featuring both classic and original radio dramas. Since 1985, Kuersteiner has produced over 235 episodes of horror and science fiction, and over 100 radio comedies. He is an avid student of radio's golden era. Kuersteiner is a regular columnist for the non-sports trading card magazine, The Wrapper. He is the owner of Monsterwax Trading cards and has published many popular card sets, including Tune In For Terror, The Night Slasher, and Don't Let It Happen Here. In 1999, Kuersteiner opened The Mystery Playhouse of Terror (aka, the Terror of Tallahassee), Tallahassee's longest running commercial haunted attraction. Unlike many haunts, the Mystery Playhouse is known for it's elaborate illusions and interactive theater. A graduate of the Asolo Film Conservatory, Kuersteiner directed the offbeat documentary Church of the Subgenius: Sect, Satire, or Satanism? He is currently working on another documentary (title yet to be announced).
