As the son of Christian Krohg and Oda Lasson, both of which were famous painters, he was born in Åsgårdstrand, Norway in 1889. Essentially living in Paris from 1897, he got his education from his father, and later from Matisse. Krohg was a talented dancer, and performed both in Paris and later home in Oslo, at Chat Noir, a theater led by aunt Bokken Lasson. As a dancer he also starred in a movie, but the dance was so daring, that his participation was presented as: " renowned Norwegian artist also contributes". Krohg died in Oslo, at the age of 75.
