David Lai, Hong Kong-born movie director, screenwriter, actor and producer. Born in 1952, at the fairly young age of 20, Mr Lai journeyed to the United Stated then attended Abraham Lincoln University to pursue a study on Cinematography and Directing. By 1979, he participated for more than 60 television programs across the world. In 1982, he directed his first film, "Lonely Fifteen" as known as "Liang Mei Zai", this trail-blazing movie gained a huge success for Mr Lai and many other award nominations including the most prestigious one in Hong Kong at the time-"Hong Kong Film Award". After gaining enough kudos in show business, Mr Lai now is based in mainland China, concentrated and dedicated his expertise mainly on "China Right Here", an epic television documentary series which has been running for more than 10 years and yet still going. Aside from this well-favored show by the audience, Mr Lai is also an artist with the great environmental conscience. Along with his advocate, he created a sister series to "China Right Here", the "Homelook", co-produced with United Nations Media Department, a special project name "UN in Action". Along with "United Nations in Action", Mr Lai had demonstrated his on-going ambition on world sustainability and all related issues through a documentary, a unique format to wake people's conscience.
