Joseph Lawson

Joseph Lawson (Joe Lawson) is a creative, marketing and business executive who has worked for 20th Century Fox, DreamWorks Animation, Rovio Entertainment and Netflix. He is best known for his work on The Angry Birds Movie and The Angry Birds Movie 2 as well as for writing and producing original Angry Birds content, including creating the Netflix original animated series Angry Birds Summer Madness. He started his career as a screenwriter. He also wrote, produced and directed the indie feature "Drinking Games" which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival. He joined 20th Century Fox to work in licensing and brand partnerships for shows like The Simpsons, Family Guy, 24 and many feature films, including The Simpsons Movie. At DreamWorks Animation he worked in a senior role within Marketing and Consumers Products and moved to Rovio Entertainment to oversee The Angry Birds Movie for Rovio, working closely with filmmakers as well as Sony Pictures Entertainment's theatrical marketing, distribution and home entertainment teams. Joe reprised his role on The Angry Birds Movie 2 and also lead Rovio's development of original content for the Angry Birds YouTube channel. In June of 2020, Lawson joined Netflix as the Head of Publishing.
