A member of the Director's Guild of Canada (DGC), he was awarded a DAAD-Scholarship in Philosophy under Jurgen Habermas at the Goethe- Universitat in Frankfurt, and has a certificate in directing from the Berlin Film School (dffb). In addition, Richard Lehun has a PostGraduate certificate in European co-production from the European Union (EAVE). His graduating film, "Fetisch" recently won the German National Film Award (Deutscher Filmpreis in Gold) for best short of 2002.
