Sasha Levinson

Sasha Levinson is a writer and director of films, commercials and branded entertainment. Inspired by the inner life of humans and the life narrative, her work is focused on story, exploring the goodness that connects us all. Sasha spent the formative years of her career shooting music videos with such luminaries as Mary J Blige, 50 Cent, Angelique Kidjo, Cake and The Barnaked Ladies. This electric sensibility still informs her aesthetic today. Her work has premiered at SXSW and Cleveland International Film Festival, MTV and AICP Awards, and has been published in the Communication Arts Annual. Her branded short film for Las Vegas tourism, about a surprise Lesbian wedding in Vegas, went viral with over 13,000,000 views and won a multitude of awards. She currently works with internationally renowned celebrities, brands, and philanthropic organizations, including Serena Williams, Oprah Winfrey, Google, Microsoft, Blockchains and The Dalai Lama, for whom she made a commissioned short film to express his vision for the Western world. She's in love with both the collaborative film making process and the solitude of writing. The tone of her sets feel like a celebration of filmmaking and this joyful approach is apparent in the material she creates. Sasha is currently in post production on the feature documentary SYLVIE of THE SUNSHINE STATE, a raw and intimate portrait of second grader Sylvie as she navigates the absurdities and emotional turbulence of her eccentric multi-generational Jewish matriarchy, a dad who lives far away and life gone virtual, as seen through the lens of her filmmaker single mom.
