Born in county Dublin Ireland and spent her early years playing the old 78s that her parents had collected which included one of her favourite pieces Ravel's Bolero, little did she know that she had already fallen in love with the sound of the sax. With only a guitar in the house Patricia had to save up to buy her first sax at the age of sixteen and soon after joined the ITGWU marching band which awarded her a scholarship to study classical sax at the Dublin College of Music where she won prizes for her playing. Many fun years were spent with this band the highlight each year marching through Dublin in the famous St. Patrick's Day Parade! She went on to doing session work with various bands and songwriters as well as studio work which included recordings that were released, Trish also had a solo recital in Trinity College accompanied by a classical pianist. Through a mutual musician friend Trish met up with the singer songwriter Dave Long at a music session. When they bumped into each other over a year later in the bank where Trish was working they couldn't believe it. They soon formed a duo 'Interfusion' and played many of the Dublin venues. Their growing success led to giving up the day job and after a performance on the RTE TV ' Davis at Large' show were offered a small role in the upcoming RTE TV drama series 'Inside' as a couple of musicians!! After a few shows in England Trish and Dave returned to Dublin where they got married July 4th 1986. They changed the duo's name to 'Sahara' and migrated to Australia. Sahara had regular guest appearances on the local TV channel including an interview on the local news. After a win on the Australian ' New Faces' Trish and Dave released an independent cassette album 'Thinking of You' and TV 8 filmed a video of their winning song 'Thinking of You'. Trish along with Dave moved to Melbourne and after recording their independent debut CD 'Vision' submitted the first track off the album 'Make My Day' to the first internet charts based in New York. This song shot to number 1 and stayed for four weeks landing Trish and Dave an interview on the ABC evening news dubbing them 'CyberStars'! Trish and Dave produced the 'Sahara Live @ The Malthouse' concert in Melbourne that was filmed for broadcast from a New York based webcast site - this film proved to be very popular and Sahara was coerced into releasing part of the soundtrack on a CD called 'Sahara Live @ The Malthouse'. Trish as part of 'Sahara' has released CDs which received high ratings in major Australian publications and has toured extensively around Australia including performing 'live to air' on countless radio stations and appearances on all the major TV stations. Over the last few years Trish has worked on three new Sahara releases, 'A New Beginning', 'There is this place I go', 'See all that's before me' and the environmental rock single 'Only This World'. 2016 - Trish is humming away in the studio....and writing new material!!
