José Manuel Lorenzo is a well-recognized figure in the Spanish audiovisual market with more than 25 years of experience. José Manuel Lorenzo is the Chairman and founder of DLO Producciones film and television production company member of Banijay Group, the world's largest content creation group for TV and multimedia platforms. Lorenzo is founder of PATE (Associated Production Companies of Spain) and has been its president until 2021. Although he studied nuclear engineering, he has dedicated his professional career to the world of media, both as a producer and director, and has held executive-level positions at major Spanish television networks: TVE, Publiespaña, Antena3, Canal + and Grupo Boomerang. Before working in film production, Lorenzo graduated as a nuclear engineer at the 'School of Industrial Engineers' in Madrid and afterward he studied Film and Theater Direction TAI and a Master's Degree in Television Marketing at San Diego State University (California) where he discovered his passion for the entertainment business. In 2004, Lorenzo became an independent producer with the creation of Grupo Drive, responsible, among others, for the international musical success 'Hoy No Me Tengo Levantar'. In 2011 he founded DLO Producciones, reaping numerous successes since its origin. Its standout scripted hits like the award-winning thriller 'La caza. Monteperdido' (TVE), the comedy movie and TV series, 'Señor, dame paciencia' (Atresmedia, Warner Pictures), a Summer 2017 box office leader in Spain, international TV series 'Dime Quién Soy'/ Mistress of war (Movistar+, Telemundo), premiered in Spain and later in USA through Peacook and HBO, and 'El Inmortal' (Movistar+, Telemundo), a 2022 Canneseries nominee. José Manuel Lorenzo has also produced the comedy movie, 'Los Japón' (Warner Bros., Atresmedia), TV movie, 'El Ángel de Budapest' (TVE), family comedy series, 'Familia' (Telecinco), miniseries, 'Mario Conde, los Días de Gloria' (Telecinco), big budget international series, 'Las aventuras del Capitán Alatriste' (Mediaset, Beta Films) and comedy series, 'El Hombre de tu Vida' (TVE). In addition to his long list of TV and movie productions, Lorenzo has acted in numerous films including 'Antártida' by Manuel Huerga, 'Gitano', by Manuel Palacios, 'Al Límite' by Eduardo Campoy, 'Paris-Timbuktu' by Luis García Berlanga, 'Sin noticias de Dios' by Agustín Díaz Yanes, 'Historia de un beso' by José Luis Garci, and 'El espinazo del Diablo' by Guillermo del Toro.
