Nick James charges life. It's the only way he knows how to live. A Californian by way of Cleveland, Nick maneuvers through the world like a sun kissed Tom Joad, leaving each person and project he tackles forever changed by his singular wit and wisdom. Nick's first big break in Hollywood came in the form of a projectionist job at a local Santa Monica movie theater. He watched "American Gigolo" 218 times and boldly decided to become a Westside Hot Boy. After scoring a meeting with a local pimp named Skittles on The Santa Monica Pier, his formal training began. Nick lasted a total of 72 hours before he realized he had neither the heart nor the stomach to pump real cash out on the streets. Naturally, he became an actor instead. An initial meeting with Universal Studios President, Casey Silver promised big opportunities until Nick told him "when I need your advice, I'll call YOU!" Nick has said, "I could teach a college course on what NOT to do in the movie business." Following a handful of appearances in atomic box office bombs like "Hard Evidence" and "Absolute Force", Nick had an epiphany that would alter the course of his life forever, "I'm not a hero, I'm a man". Insight like this could only be reflected in the mind of one kind of individual... A Writer/Director. Nick, aka "NickyNik", was a trailblazer in the once untapped universe of YouTube in the early aughts. He became the 3rd most subscribed comedian on the platform garnering millions of views while performing regularly at The Comedy Store. His early films have won awards and screened at Film Festivals around the world. His limitless curiosity and fearless approach towards his craft molded him into a raconteur of the purist variety... One with nothing to lose. Nick has been a valet parker, boxcar hobo, bartender, professional break dancer and even celebrated a stint as a Japanese Supermodel. All this to make his work uncompromisingly visceral. Drifting through the sunlight and examining the human spirit, Nick crafted his tales as only a true writer can, by living them. His latest film, "The Cereal Killer's Checklist," is a think piece about the world's least qualified murderers and why true ignorance remains the best kept secret of the bloodthirsty. Nick lives with his wife and son in Santa Monica embodying a postcard version of the California dream.
