Born at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital in 1944. Music was Steve first love, as he wrote songs and participated in The Cornells Band during his late teen years. The Cornells Band included Robert Linkletter (son of Art Linkletter), Peter Lewis (son of Loretta Young), Charlie Correll (son of Charles Correll, Sr.), Andy (of Amos 'N' Andy), Jim O'Keefe (son of Dennis O'Keefe), Tom Crumplar (son of Tom Crumplar). Riding the tide of sons of celebrities, the band appeared on "The Gary Moore Show" and "The Les Crane Show" and played in a number of Santa Monica venues, including The Space Bar at Disneyland, and drew large crowds. Steve sang lead and co-wrote with Charlie Correll the song "Surf Fever" for the "Beach Bound" album, which is now the title song in the re-release of that album under the name "Surf Fever" on the Sundaze Label. In 1964, while he was attending music classes at UCLA, an agent approached Steve about acting, which led to his contract with 20th Century Fox Studios. Under this contract he acted the part of Haythorn in the Oscar-nominated feature film "The Sandpebbles" starring Steve McQueen, Candice Bergen, and Richard Crenna. Additionally, Fox cast him in the Chet Morton role for the ABC pilot "The Hardy Boys." Mr. Jahn's exposure to music motivated him to produce several albums for the group Inner Dialogue with Pat Curtis and Raquel Welch, written by Gene Dinovi and Tony Velona. His association with Ms. Welch led him to become an Associate Producer of CBS and Coca-Cola's television special "Raquel." Steve went on to work with Pierre Cossette and Burt Sugarman, producers of many major television programs and specials. With this background, the door opened for Steve to become part of the development and, eventually, Executive Producer of the award-winning TV series "The New Zoo Review," which became famous for teaching moral values through music to children. The show was subsequently honored by Tricia Nixon as the featured children's entertainment for the traditional White House Easter Celebration. From this foundation in children's programming, Steve built a production company and, as Executive Producer, helped launch the "Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Golden Globe Awards" as an annual television special. In addition, he was Executive Producer of ABC's "Steve Allen's 25th Anniversary Salute" television special, ABC's "Robert Young with the Young," starring The Carpenters, Artie Johnson, and Sandy Duncan, ABC's "Desi Arnaz Jr's California My Way" with Mama Cass and Paul Williams, and numerous other shows, series pilots, and specials. In those days, Steve was an active member of the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences. Having sold this production company, Steve turned his attention to humanitarian efforts. As a result of these, he took a consulting position with World Vision International in the broadcast fund-raising television specials for child sponsorships.
