Ricardo M. Kaplan

Ricardo was born in Mexico City and grew up in Juchitan, Oaxaca, Mexico. He is one of six children. He has a twin brother; his father was from the State of Coahuila in Mexico and his mother from San Francisco, California, US. He attended his senior year of HS. in Lakewood High School, Lakewood Ohio as an exchange student with the AFS program. Studied architecture in Xalapa Veracruz, and worked with his father from 1985 to 1991 when he started working for movies. His debut at movies was as Art Director of the Mexican movie "Like Water for Chocolate".
