Raquel Mondin, born in New York City, made her film debut as a young girl in Fame (1980). Her breakthrough came as a recurring role on "As The World Turns." Mondin received the majority of her training in New York City, where she studied the Meisner Technique with William Esper, among other well-known teachers. She is currently studying with Larry Moss. Mondin does an endless number of her own hysterical characters, in addition to many impersonations and sketch comedy. Mondin, who is half-Equadorian, can play virtually any ethnicity, with her wide range of dialects and chamelon-like acting ability. She is frequently cast as the ingenue or the leading lady because of her looks, however, she is a character actress at heart. Mondin studied opera for many years and has a three-octave range. Currently, she lives in Los Angeles.
