Ben Morieson has been working in film and television for over 25 years. After graduating in Sculpture at RMIT, and experiencing 2 years of travel around the world, Morieson started his career in prop making and scenic art. His first job as Art Director on a feature was The Castle in 1996. He has since worked as a Production designer on projects ranging from small TV comedies to larger budget Features including Oddball, The Dish and Bad Eggs. For Morieson, one of the most engaging aspects of this work is to create great environments for actors performance and the director's story telling. It starts with building a perfect art department, and then researching the stories behind the script. He enjoys the collaborative process in creating these character's worlds, working very closely with the Director and DOP to make the brief and then bring it to life on the screen. Projects include the telemovies Hawke (Nominated for an APDG award for best Production Design), INXS and Molly (Nominated for an AACTA for best Production Design for a series), feature films Oddball and Galore, The Death and Life of Otto Bloom (nominated for a 2017 AACTA award for Best production design in a feature). La Brea, series 1, 2 and 3 for NBC /UTV and The Survivors shooting this year for Netflix are the most recent TV projects.
