Michelle's mother was a bush pilot and her father a test pilot; she grew up as an adventurer - circumnavigating the globe twice by the age of 10. She has travelled to nearly 50 countries, spent a childhood in Iran - escaping during the revolution, and later lived in China. She is a board member of the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) - BC Council and a 1st AD member in the Directors Guild. She holds a BFA from York University and a MA from Staffordshire University, UK. Michelle has taught producing, directing and the art of filmmaking at several creative institutions, including guest lecturing at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and as an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia.
