Kadour Naimi (or Kaddour Naïmi) is born in Algeria (1945). In Strasbourg (France), he studied directing and dramaturgy theater at the Ecole Supérieure d'Art Dramatique (Hight School of Drama Art) (1966-1968). In University of Louvain-La-Neuve (Belgium), he earned a degree in sociology (1979). In Oran (Algeria), he founded the Théâtre de la Mer (Theater of the Sea) (1968) where he wrote and directed experimental research pieces, whose innovations were noticed by the press and essayists from various countries. Et à l'aurore, où est l'espoir ?' (And where is the dawn of hope ?) received the Research Prize at the International Festival of Hammamet (Tunisia). In Rome (Italy), he founded and directed the company's production and distribution Maldoror Film and a Film School (1986-2009) and a Festival Internazionale Cinema Libero (International Free Film Festival) (2006-2008). He has written and directed independent films and documentaries. The documentary The oriole sings, the swallow dances was presented to the Portobello Film Festival in London (September 2014). In French and Italian, he published shorts novels and poetry, some of which have won awards.
