He spent his childhood between Buenos Aires, New York, and later Paris, where he settled and began his film studies. He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière in 1982 and began making short films, developing his style as a director. He made his feature film debut in 1998 with Seul contre tous (I Am All Alone), a sequel to one of his best-known short films, Carne (1991). In the following years, he made several films, including notable titles such as Irreversible (2002), Enter the Void (2009), Love (2015), and Climax (2018), among others. Characterized by exploring various themes taken to extreme experiences, Noé's works provoke intense reactions in his viewers, which has earned him both admiration and criticism. Awarded at multiple film festivals such as Cannes, Sitges, and San Sebastián, Gaspar Noé is undoubtedly one of the most prominent and original figures in contemporary cinema.
