Janosch Orlowsky was born on July 30th (1978) in Seoul. He grew up in Berlin, Germany (1978-1980) and a small town near Bremen, Vechta (1980-1998) in north-western Germany, where he attended school and spent his youth. Janosch has one brother and two sisters. When Janosch was twelve, he discovered the family's Hi8-camcorder and started shooting and editing videos. Beyond college, he ran a video production company (Janosch Orlowsky Videoproduktion) which produced documentaries of weddings and industrial films. At the age of fifteen, he began working at a TV production company in Bremen. He was trained camera assistance and editing. In 1997, he passed his final exam. One week later, he began his community service as first-aid attendant at the emergency service in Vechta. He had always been interested in medical services because of his parents' professions (both are medical doctors). During the following ten months he kept on working in the TV and news business. In fall 1998, he moved to Munich where he worked on several film projects before starting a professional career as a film producer. From 1999 until 2002 he produced more than fifty commercials, music videos, on-air promo and corporate films. In 2003, he started studying at the renowned "Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (DFFB)" - first in the producers' class and then changed to the directors' class in 2005. He finished film school in 2009. Since 2002, Janosch has been working as freelancing director, producer and writer for several German production companies. Since 2006, Janosch has also been working as media-, film- and television consultant for several clients.
