Yury Olshansky

Yury Olshansky member of SAG-AFTRA, was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. After graduation in 1972 from Volkov's Theater Institute, he was involved in acting, directing, writing and teaching in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Since 1980 Olshansky resided in New York, where he received his Master of Fine Arts in Film Production from the New York University, he has been active in acting, directing, writing and producing for film and TV, and has been working with such directors and actors, as Paul Mazursky and Robin Williams "Moscow on the Hudson", French director Cédric Klapisch "In Transit" (Grand Prix, Grenoble, France); Spyros Vrettos "Whiter than snow" (Exceptional Merit Award, as lead actor at the Depth of Field International Film Festival, 2021, Usa; producer Thomas Brown "Passing though Linden". He has written several screenplays and created "Olshansky Method" for Film and Theatre, Complete Guide for directors, actors and writers, which he has been successfully teaching in U.S. and Europe. As an author he has published a book of poetry and short stories "Unfinished dialog" illustrated by Tjaarke Maas, ZebraE edition, 2014 Moscow, Russia, and the book of prose and Essays "Beyond the memory" Borey Art Center Edition, 2021, St. Petersburg, Russia, "ABQ" collective novels, "Kairos" a novel, "The Messenger" book of poetry, Borey Art Center International Edition, 2023. Together with Marie Rowe, Yury is a co-writer of "Whiter than snow" screenplay by writer/director Spyros Vrettos.
