Gaetano Kazuo Maida is a film producer and international film festival producer/programmer. A New York City native, he has resided in California since 1990. In addition to film, he has been actively engaged in book and magazine publishing on both coasts. He serves as executive director of the nonprofit Buddhist Film Foundation (BFF: www.buddhistfilmfoundation.org) which produces the International Buddhist Film Festival (IBFF). IBFF has been presented in ten cities on three continents since its founding in 2000. BFF has served as fiscal sponsor for two dozen film projects, including the HBO drama The Tale (2018), and AFI Grand Jury Prize winner Buddha's Lost Children (2006). He is currently developing a documentary series about the contemporary Buddhist/mindfulness arena. (2019)
