Mona Mansour is an Arab-American playwright based in New York City. She was part of the Emerging Writers Group at the Public Theater, which put her in the downtown NYC theater scene. Her plays often involve the way politics outside affect family dynamics inside, whether in the US or the Middle East. She started as an actor, performing in the Sunday Company at LA's Groundlings Theater alongside Ana Gasteyer, Will Ferrell, and others. The humor in all her plays might be attributed to time spent in that world. Poetry also factors into her plays -- in particular The Vagrant Trilogy, in which a Palestinian Wordsworth scholar goes to London to fulfill his academic dreams.
